About Rooted

We Run Recovery Houses.
We Built the Software.

Rooted started as a sober living home in Southern California. We built the platform to solve our own problems — then opened it to every operator in the country.

The Short Version

We opened a recovery residence because we saw people leaving treatment with nowhere stable to go. We ran the house ourselves. And we quickly realized the biggest challenge wasn't the residents — it was the operations.

Drug test logs in one spreadsheet. Payments in another. Meeting attendance on paper. Referrals coming in through texts, emails, and phone calls with no way to track them. We were spending more time on admin than on the people we were supposed to be helping.

So we built the tools we wished existed. And when other operators saw what we built, they wanted it too.

How We Got Here

1

Started as Operators

We opened our first recovery residence in Corona, CA — managing everything with spreadsheets, group texts, and paper logs.

2

Built the Software

Frustrated by the lack of tools designed for recovery housing, we built our own platform to manage guests, track compliance, and handle payments.

3

Opened the Marketplace

Case managers needed a way to find verified beds. We built a searchable marketplace with real-time availability — free for referral partners.

4

Launched for Operators

Other operators saw what we built and wanted it too. Now any recovery housing operator can use Rooted to run their house the way we run ours.

What We Stand For

These guide how we operate our homes, build our software, and treat everyone who interacts with Rooted.

Accountability

Drug tests get logged. Meetings get tracked. Rent gets recorded. No more 'I thought someone was handling that.' Everything is documented, everything is visible.

Transparency

Guests see their own progress. Case managers see real bed availability. Operators see their numbers. No black boxes. Everyone knows where they stand.

Quality

We hold ourselves to the same standards we ask of our operators. Clean homes, clear rules, professional operations. No shortcuts.

Community

Recovery doesn't happen in isolation. We build environments — and tools — that bring people together, hold them accountable, and celebrate progress.

The Founder

Jumaane Bey

Jumaane brings a background in housing, finance, and technology. He opened Rooted's first recovery residence because he believed stable housing should be the starting point — not the reward — for people in recovery. When the operational challenges became clear, he built the software to fix them. Today he operates Rooted's homes, builds the platform, and works directly with operators across the country to help them run better programs.
